This lomi-lomi salmon recipe was originally part of Mike Stines&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fieryfoodscentral.com\/2008\/12\/27\/in-hawaii-barbecue-means-a-luau\/\">Hawaiian cooking story<\/a> on our sister site.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">1 (5-ounce) salmon filet<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Coarse kosher or Hawaiian salt<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">3 tomatoes, seeded and diced<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">1\/3 cup thinly sliced green onions<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">1\/4 cup finely chopped sweet onion<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">2 tablespoons fresh lime juice<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">1\/2 teaspoon granulated sugar<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">1\/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Instructions<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Place a layer of salt into a glass baking dish, top with salmon and cover with more salt. Rub the salt into the salmon, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Rinse the salmon under running cold water and pat dry.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"wpurp-recipe-description\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">Shred the salmon into a mixing bowl. Add the tomatoes, sweet onion and green onions. Add the lime juice and sugar; season with black pepper.
