Gathered Foods, makers of Good Catch plant-based seafood just teamed with Long John Silver’s, the nation’s largest quick-service seafood chain. Starting Monday, July 19<\/span>, Long John Silver’s offers two of Good Catch’s newest innovations to guests while supplies last.\u00a0 The Plant-Based Breaded Fish-Free Fillet and Plant-Based Breaded Crab-Free Cake<\/a> will feature as the national restaurant chain’s first plant-based seafood offerings.\u00a0 These menu items will be available at five locations in California<\/span> and Georgia<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The new options include a Plant-Based Platter, which includes two Fish-Free Fillets, two Crab-Free Cakes, and two sides; two plant-based meal options featuring Fish-Free Fillets or Crab-Free Cakes, each served with two sides; plus Fish-Free Fillets and Crab-Free Cakes as \u00e0 la carte add-ons to any meal. Consumers in Georgia<\/span> can visit the Newnan<\/span> (52 Bullsboro Dr.) location, near Atlanta<\/span> or the Albany<\/span> (1805 N. Slappey Drive) location. In California<\/span>, the offerings will be available in Bakersfield<\/span> (3801 Ming Ave.), Sacramento<\/span> (7228 Stockton Blvd), and Clovis<\/span> (406 W Shaw Ave.).<\/p>\n

The Plant-Based Breaded Fish-Free Fillet has a tender, flaky whitefish texture encased in a crunchy, crispy breading. The Plant-Based Breaded Crab-Free Cakes are entr\u00e9e-sized with a lump crabmeat-like texture and sweet crab flavor complemented with sweet peppers, green onions, parsley and a kick of spice.<\/p>\n

The company’s proprietary six-legume blend (peas, chickpeas, lentils, soy, fava beans and navy beans) is packed with protein and used as the base of Good Catch products to create the texture that mimics the flakiness of seafood. Good Catch is on a mission to offer a delicious plant-based solution to support ocean health.<\/p>\n

Long John Silver’s has pioneered the quick service seafood restaurant industry since 1969. Gathered Foods has had an impressive year thus far, with the launch of its new frozen breaded line and most recently the announcement of its partnership with Dr. Sylvia Earle’s<\/span> nonprofit Mission Blue for an ongoing sponsorship and consumer call to action to help shift the decline of marine wildlife.
