Note: This recipe requires advance preparation.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5992\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seafood-harvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Reeling-in-the-Years.jpg\" alt=\"reeling in the years\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.seafood-harvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Reeling-in-the-Years.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.seafood-harvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Reeling-in-the-Years-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Ceviche de Mojarra Ingredients<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 pounds cichlid or sunfish fillets (or substitute freshwater fish: bass, perch, or pan fish)<\/li>\n<li>4 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seafood-harvest.com\/index.php\/2021\/11\/11\/seafood-stuffed-jalapenos\/\">jalape\u00f1o<\/a> <\/em>chiles, stems and seeds removed, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups fresh lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>1 cup chopped red onion or sweet onion<\/li>\n<li>2 cups peeled, seeded, and chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped cilantro<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped green olives<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons mayonnaise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut the fish into 1-inch pieces and place them in a shallow glass baking dish, such as Pyrex, pour the lemon juice over them and sprinkle with 1\/2 of the minced <em>jalape\u00f1os<\/em>. Marinate the fish for one hour in the refrigerator. Then pour the fish and the marinade into a colander and let it drain for a few minutes. Carefully place the fish into a glass bowl and set aside.<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, mix the onion, tomatoes, salt, black pepper, cilantro, olive oil, garlic and the remaining <em>jalape\u00f1os<\/em> together.
